Dr. Vogel has served as a Scientific Advisor to the company since 2024 and will continue supporting Avenue Biosciences in a non-executive capacity as a member of its Board.
With more than 25 years of experience leading global biologics organizations, Dr. Jens Vogel has helped shape the development and manufacturing strategies behind some of the biopharmaceutical industry’s most advanced medicines. His expertise spans monoclonal antibodies, mRNA medicines, and the industrialization of next-generation therapeutic platforms.
He currently serves as Senior Vice President and Head of the Global Biologics Operating Unit at Merck & Co., where he leads the internal and external manufacturing network supporting the company’s multi-billion-dollar biologics portfolio and late-stage biologics pipeline.

Dr. Vogel brings deep expertise in protein expression technologies, biologics CMC, mRNA industrialization, manufacturing strategy, and the commercialization of platform technologies. His experience spans senior leadership roles at Merck & Co., Bayer Pharmaceuticals, Mirai Bio, and Boehringer Ingelheim.
